Pallet → tote break-down
Idle — water spider starts the clock when a pallet leaves bulk; stops when totes land on the loop grocery.
Rail log
Play the day — pitches, andon, and Done will land here.
Bottlenecks
Line is inside takt. No named holds this pitch.
Station balance
Bars vs 10-min takt. Effective minutes include skill and cover. Bottleneck S1 Base Prep.
Tick mark is takt. Arrows move half a minute to the neighbor. Total 108.5 min across the rail.
Andon helpers
No open andon. Cable routing, final touches, and trim never call. Six helpers cover the rest of the rail, QC, and bulk.
Dunnage · off the line
Chassis crate and foam are S1–S3 (and single build). S4–S11 is bags and trim — it does not hold the rail. Empties stack in the yard.
Clear. No open crates on the loop.
Dunnage boardThe loop
Rail S1 → S6 across the top, around to S7, back to S11. Tap a station to see the work. Done issues parts and marks Ready so the chair can pitch. Pace 6 / hour · goal 0 / day. Dunnage crew is off this line.
S1 · Base Prep · empty
Build begins here with base preparation, motor install, and chassis setup. Verify base unit. Scan & label components. Install motors. Route cables. Prepare chassis & wheels. Dunnage crew pulls the crate — not the station operator. Cart and totes sit behind.

How we do this job
11 rail platforms, 10-min takt, pitch chain back to S1.
- Operator Done issues the station kit and sets ready. Pull walks backward. S1 launches the next buffer cart, hot first.
- Andon is for over-takt or a stuck fastener. Cable routing, final touches, and trim (S6, S9, S10) do not pull. Six helpers cover the rail, QC, and bulk.
- Dunnage crew pulls the crate at S1–S3 — not the station operator.
- S11 Done pitches to QC. The chair does not go back on the rail.
